.I Ddlcomp
reads a \s-2DDL\s+2 program from the standard input
and produces an output file,
.I outfile,
which contains the tables and interpretive code necessary
to play, using 
.I ddlrun(6),
the game described by the program.  Error messages
and data summary are produced on standard output.
