1.1     ! root        1:    The subdirectories in this directory correspond to chapters
        !             2: and appendices in the Icon book. Zeros are prepended to the
        !             3: early chapters to obtain the proper collating sequence. The subdirectory
        !             4: "f" corresponds to Appendix F of the book, which contains
        !             5: solutions to selected exercises.
        !             6: 
        !             7:    The subdirectories contain the procedures from the book.  Each
        !             8: procedure (or collection of procedures) has a unique name; most
        !             9: are obvious. In some cases, procedures have been augmented for
        !            10: completeness, but most partial procedures have been omitted.
        !            11: There are a few minor corrections to the procedures as they appeared
        !            12: in the first printing of the Icon book.
        !            13: 
        !            14:    There are two lists in this directory to facilitate location
        !            15: of procedures:  alpha.ls and page.ls.  The file alpha.ls contains
        !            16: a listing of the procedures in alphabetical order, while page.ls
        !            17: contains a listing of the procedures by page number.
