1.1       root        1:    The subdirectories in this directory correspond to chapters
                      2: and appendices in the Icon book. Zeros are prepended to the
                      3: early chapters to obtain the proper collating sequence. The subdirectory
                      4: "f" corresponds to Appendix F of the book, which contains
                      5: solutions to selected exercises.
                      6: 
                      7:    The subdirectories contain the procedures from the book.  Each
                      8: procedure (or collection of procedures) has a unique name; most
                      9: are obvious. In some cases, procedures have been augmented for
                     10: completeness, but most partial procedures have been omitted.
                     11: There are a few minor corrections to the procedures as they appeared
                     12: in the first printing of the Icon book.
                     13: 
                     14:    There are two lists in this directory to facilitate location
                     15: of procedures:  alpha.ls and page.ls.  The file alpha.ls contains
                     16: a listing of the procedures in alphabetical order, while page.ls
                     17: contains a listing of the procedures by page number.
