                     25: on line, it has become possible to use computers
                     26: to study writing style itself and to help writers
                     27: produce better written and more readable prose.
                     28: The system of programs described here is an initial step
                     29: toward such help.
                     30: It includes programs and a data base designed
                     31: to produce a stylistic profile of writing at the word and
                     32: sentence level.
                     33: The system measures read\%ability, sentence and word length,
