                     12: This section describes the special files, related driver functions,
                     13: and networking support
                     14: available in the system.
                     15: In this part of the manual, the SYNOPSIS section of
                     16: each configurable device gives a sample specification
                     17: for use in constructing a system description for the
                     18: .IR config (8)
                     19: program.
                     20: The DIAGNOSTICS section lists messages which may appear on the console
                     21: and in the system error log
                     22: .I /var/log/messages
                     23: due to errors in device operation.

                     25: A hardware device is identified to the system at configuration time
                     26: and the appropriate device or network interface driver is then compiled
                     27: into the system.  When the resultant system is booted, the
                     28: autoconfiguration facilities in the system probe for the device
                     29: on the VERSAbus and, if found, enable the software
                     30: support for it.  If a VERSAbus device does not respond at autoconfiguration
                     31: time it is not accessible at any time afterwards.  To
                     32: enable a VERSAbus device which did not autoconfigure, the system will have to
                     33: be rebooted.
