                     40: examines each file system,
                     41: builds a table of current disc usage,
                     42: and compares this table against that stored
                     43: in the disc quota file for the file system.
                     44: If any inconsistencies are detected, both the
                     45: quota file and the current system copy of the
                     46: incorrect quotas are updated (the latter only
                     47: occurs if an active file system is checked).
