        ! 15: DESCRIPTION
! 16:      _X_w_d is an X Window System (protocol version 10) window image
! 17:      dumping utility.  _X_w_d allows X users to store window images
! 18:      in a specially formated window dump file. This file can
! 19:      then be read by various other X utilities for redisplay,
! 20:      printing, editing, formatting, archiving, image processing
! 21:      etc..  The target window is selected by clicking the mouse
! 22:      in the desired window.  The keyboard bell is rung once at
! 23:      the beginning of the dump and twice when the dump is com-
! 24:      pleted.  The window dump file format is currently under
! 25:      development; no guarantee of upward compatibility is made:
! 26:      the dump file format will be completely different under V11.
        ! 27:
        ! 28: ARGUMENT SUMMARY
! 29:      -help   Print out the `Usage:' command syntax summary.
        ! 30:
! 31:      -nobdrs This argument specifies that the window dump  should
! 32:             not  include  the pixels that compose the X window
! 33:             border.  This is useful in situations where you may
! 34:             wish to include the  window  contents in a document
        ! 35:             as an illustration.
        ! 36:
        ! 37:      -out _f_i_l_e
! 38:             This argument allows the user to explicitly specify
! 39:             the output file on the command line.  The default is
! 40:             to output to standard out.
        ! 41:
! 42:      -xy     This option applies to color displays only. It
! 43:             selects `XY' format dumping instead of the default
! 44:             `Z' format. Monochrome displays are always dumped in
        ! 45:             `XY' format.
        ! 46:
        ! 47:      _h_o_s_t:_d_i_s_p_l_a_y
! 48:             This  argument  allow  you  to  specify the host and
! 49:             display number on which to find the target window.
! 50:             For example `xwd orpheus:1' would specify that the
! 51:             target window is on display `1' on the machine
! 52:             `orpheus'.  By default, _x_w_d uses the host and
! 53:             display number stored in the environment variable
! 54:             DISPLAY, and therefore this argument is not normally
        ! 55:             specified.
