.TH LS 8S "15 Nov 1984" .UC 4 .SH NAME ls \- list contents of directory - standalone utility .SH SYNOPSIS .B ls .br .SH DESCRIPTION For each directory argument, .I ls lists the contents of the directory; for each file argument, .I ls repeats its name and inode number. .SH USER INTERFACE .nf Boot ls <CR> ls: (at this point the user gives the directory name) Inode Name .fi .PP Now follows a list of names and inode numbers. When the listing is done, .I ls will wait for another directory name. .PP When the user is done he should hit a <~h> or a <~b> to halt.
