#print
You must recognize that the commands typed at the
editor are distinct from the commands typed at the
normal UNIX command interpreter. In particular,
neither program knows the commands recognized by the
other one. So you must always remember when you
are talking to the normal command interpreter (the
one that says % to you) and when you are talking
to the editor. The commands 'w' and 'q' are recognized
by the editor. The commands 'ls', 'mv' and so forth
are not.

Can you expect the editor to recognize the command
  cat george
