getpw()                  General Function                 getpw()




Search password file

ggeettppww(_u_i_d, _l_i_n_e)
sshhoorrtt _u_i_d;
cchhaarr *_l_i_n_e;

getpw searches the  password file /etc/passwd for the first entry
with numerical  user id  uid.  If  found, line receives  the cor-
responding line from the password file.
