                     11: ppaaxx is  an archiving utility  that reads and writes  ttaarr and ccppiioo
                     12: formats,  both  the traditional  ones  and  the extended  formats
                     13: specified  in  IEEE  document  1003.1.   It handles  multi-volume
                     14: archives and  automatically determines  the format  of an archive
                     15: while reading it.

                     17: ppaaxx supports  three user interfaces: ttaarr, ccppiioo,  and ppaaxx. The ppaaxx
                     18: interface was  designed by  IEEE  1003.2  as a compromise  in the
                     19: chronic  controversy over  which of  ttaarr  or  ccppiioo  interfaces is
                     20: superior.
