                     12: UUCP uses a system of lock  files to ensure that sites are polled
                     13: in an  orderly manner.   It creates a  lock file named  after the
                     14: site being polled, to  prevent more than one invocation of uuuucciiccoo
                     15: or another  UUCP command from  polling the same site  at the same
                     16: time.  On occasion, if UUCP  fails or crashes, it will neglect to
                     17: clean up its lock  files, thus preventing itself from polling the
                     18: locked sites.

                     20: The command uuuurrmmlloocckk removes all UUCP lock files.  You should run
                     21: this if you suspect that UUCP has died in a disorderly manner and
                     22: has left lock files lying around unattended.

                     24: Before you run uuuurrmmlloocckk, examine  the output of the command ppss to
                     25: ensure that no UUCP command is  running at the moment (and so has
                     26: legitimately locked  a site).  Note that  only the superuser rroooott
                     27: can run uuuurrmmlloocckk.
