The  following  functions  can   be  used  by  device  drivers  to  perform
input/output (I/O):

ddeevvmmssgg()       Write major/minor device numbers and message to console
iiooggeettcc()       Get a character from I/O segment
iiooppuuttcc()       Put a character into I/O segment
iioorreeaadd()       Read from I/O segment
iioorreeqq()        Request I/O through block routine
iioowwrriittee()      Write to I/O segment
pprriinnttff()       Write message directly to console
