1.1     ! root        1: Specifying the -g flag to GCC on a RISC iX machine requires upgrading the 
        !             2: standard assembler distributed with both RISC iX 1.1 and RISC iX 1.2 with a 
        !             3: replacement that is available from Acorn.  This version of the assembler is
        !             4: also an order of magnitude faster when assembling to an NFS mounted 
        !             5: file-system.

        !             7: Users of RISC iX 1.2 and above can obtain a copy of the assembler from the
