        !             6: For this preliminary release we have provided a UNICODE font and Russian 
        !             7: keyboard layout to give developers a head start on developing UNICODE enabled
        !             8: applications.  This README contains directions on installing the font and the 
        !             9: keyboard.  It assumes that the NT machine is connected to a CD-ROM.  If this
        !            10: is not the case, then copy the appropriate files to a location on your hard
        !            11: drive first, and then follow these instructions.

        !            13: 1. UNICODE FONT.
        !            14: 
        !            15:    In order to use the UNICODE notepad (UNIPAD.EXE), or any of the UNICODE 
        !            16:    sample applications, such as SHOWUNI, or NTFONTS, you must first install
        !            17:    the UNICODE font.
        !            18: 
        !            19:    To do this, complete the following steps.
        !            20: 
        !            21:    a) Ensure that the font file UCLUCIDA.TTF is in 
        !            22:       <cd drive>:\mstools\unicode\fonts (or wherever you have copied this file)

        !            24:    b) From the Control Panel choose Fonts
        !            25: 
        !            26:    c) Choose Add
        !            27:  
        !            28:    d) Indicate the path to the UCLUCIDA.TTF file.
        !            29: 
        !            30:    e) Highlight the Lucida Sans Unicode (TrueType) selection.

        !            32:    f) Choose OK.

        !            34:    The font should now be installed on your system.  As a quick test, start 
        !            35:    UNIPAD.EXE and open the file UNICODE.UTF.  You should see examples of all
        !            36:    of the characters built into this font.

        !            38:    NOTE: On S3 video cards, in 1024x768 mode, you should turn Word Wrap on in
        !            39:          UNIPAD in order to see the math characters more effectively.

        !            41: 2. RUSSIAN KEYBOARD.

        !            43:    In order to use the Russian Keyboard with UNIPAD.EXE, you must first 
        !            44:    install the keyboard as follows.  In the instructions <system> represents
        !            45:    i386 for x86 architectures and MIPS for R4000 architectures.

        !            47:    a) Copy OEMLAY0.inf from <cd drive>:\mstools\unicode\layouts to the 
        !            48:       \nt\system directory on your computer.
        !            49: 
        !            50:    b) From the Control Panel, choose International.
        !            51: 
        !            52:    c) Select Keyboard Layout

        !            54:    d) Highlight Russian

        !            63:    You should now be able to go into UNIPAD.EXE and type in Russian.  You can 
        !            64:    then return to the International Applet and choose the US English keyboard
        !            65:    again, switch back to UNIPAD, and type in English in the same document.

        !            67:    Please remember to switch back to the US keyboard before typing in any 
        !            68:    other apps, or before trying to save the file that you were working on.
