1.1       root        1: WARNING: Do not start NeXTstep 1.0a and earlier with Ethernet

                     16: Howto: Setup networking on NeXTstep 1.0 through 2.2:

                     18: 1. On first boot you might be dropped to the single user
                     19:    mode console. Just type "exit" to continue booting.

                     21: 2. Open "/etc/resolv.conf" and add "nameserver 10.0.2.3".
                     22:    If this file does not exist, you have to first create it. 
                     23:    Be sure you create a plain text file. If you use Edit.app
                     24:    you can do this by selecting Format > Text > Make ASCII.
                     25:    You can save the file from the save dialog by typing 
                     26:    "/etc/resolv.conf" to the name field.

                     38:    h  Hit "OK" and confirm all messages. It will reboot. Done.

                     42: Howto: Setup networking on NeXTstep 3.0 and later:
                     43: 
                     44: 1. Use Simple Network Starter (you find it in the NextAdmin directory) 
                     45:    and set up some values:
                     46:    a  Check "Provide the services specified below."
                     47:    b  Choose a hostname (whatever you want).
                     48:    c  Set IP address to "10.0.2.15".
                     49:    d  Go to "Network Options..." and set 
                     50:       Router to "10.0.2.2"
                     51:       Broadcast Address to "10.0.2.255"
                     52:       Netmask to "255.255.255.0" and
                     53:       NIS Domain Name to "None".
                     54:    e  Hit configure. You will be prompted to connect the Ethernet
                     55:       cable.
                     56:    f  If not already done, connect emulated Ethernet now using
                     57:       Previous' GUI and hit OK.

                     59: 2. Using root access rights open and edit these files:
                     60:    a  /etc/hostconfig and replace "-ROUTER-" with "10.0.2.2".
                     61:    b  /etc/resolv.conf and add "nameserver 10.0.2.3".

                     70:       Services > Open Sesame > Open As Root.
                     71:    c  For making a new resolv.conf open Edit.app the same way (b) 
                     72:       and in the save dialog type as name "/etc/resolv.conf"
