13: With the advent of wildly heterogeneous networks, automatic software
14: distribution has become a nightmare. Binaries are useless, and source
15: code often fails to recompile across ostensibly standard systems.
16: Finally, security is, as always, a concern, especially when the automatic
17: installation of priviliged system software is desired. We describe
18: yet another attempt to address some of these issues. Our system is
19: built out of the

21: tools, with a small amount of glue.
