1.1     ! root        1: 7/19/93 spe does not use the "general" script for two reasons:
        !             2: 1. there is a modification in function "bibliography"
        !             3: 2. some of the routines for rearranging authors' names have
        !             4:    been corrected; they are wrong in "general".
        !             5: Both differences should someday be buried.  (doug)
