.SH DESCRIPTION
\f4tosmtp\fP translates a
.SM UNIX
System mail message (read from standard
input), into an RFC822 mail message, which can then be delivered with \s-1SMTP\s+1.
\f4tosmtp\fP is normally invoked by \f4smtpqer\fP as part of the process of
queueing mail for delivery.

The options to \f4tosmtp\fP and their meanings are as follows:

Pass the specified \f2domain\fP directly to the \f4smtp\fP program.

Act as a filter.
The RFC822 message is sent to the standard output.

This option can be used to specify the name to be used for the host in the
initial
.SM SMTP
.SM HELO
message.
This option is also passed to the \f4smtp\fP program.
